Viticultura

Two-thirds of Mexico’s vine plantation belong to this region that’s why our food is strongly influenced by the presence of wine at our table.  The Lunario wine program is crafted by exclusive vintages and unique wines from our wineries La Lomita and Finca La Carrodilla.

“I think Sheyla Alvarado has got to be the most talented chef in the valle.”

Chef Sheyla Alvarado

The restaurant's chef, Sheyla Alvarado, hails from the state of Sonora, Mexico. After studying Gastronomy at the Autonomous University of Baja California, she interned at Cosme in New York, Sud777 in Mexico City, and Mirazur on the French Riviera. From a young age, she became part of the second generation of chefs in Baja California's culinary scene.

Under her leadership, Lunario's menu has evolved since its opening into one of the region's most innovative and avant-garde culinary concepts. Alvarado has garnered great respect from the press, peers, and diners due to her commitment to Baja cuisine. Her work has been mentioned by the American Culinary Institute, Condé Nast, and The New York Times, among others.

In her own words: "I cook things that I like to eat, influenced mostly by Mexican flavors ... I am inclined to cook with fresh products that are nearby and thus let the ingredients express themselves without manipulating them to a great extent."

In 2023, her restaurant Lunario made it onto the San Pellegrino Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list and was awarded a Green Star by the Michelin Guide in 2024.

Lunario is an observatory of local gastronomy and universal astronomy.
